Journey of Heritages 2023 opens calls for entries

The “Heritage Photographic Contest – Journey of Heritages 2023” will be kicked off on April 1, stressing the importance of preserving cultural heritage and natural values.

Submissions should be sent to the organizers from April 1 to July 31, while the results will be announced in August 2023. 

The winning photos will be widely used in publications, media, or social networks at home and abroad to promote the values of Vietnam’s cultural heritage as well as Vietnam’s tourism.

Professional and non-professional photographers, Vietnamese citizens, or foreigners living and working in Vietnam aged 18 years or older are eligible to participate in the contest.

Entries to the contest should focus on heritage themes such as historical and cultural relics, art and architectural works, and Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes and people.

The submissions can be divided into three categories of photosets, including single images and magazine covers.

The entries can be sent via e-mail: heritagevna@gmail.com with the title “Heritage Photographic Contest 2023 – Category (Singer/ Photosets/ Magazine’s Cover) – Name of the photograph – Name of the photographer.

The 2023 Heritage Photo Contest has 16 prizes worth over VND250 million (US$11,000).

The organizing committee will select the best photos for an exhibition in September 2023.

“Heritage Photographic Contest – Journey of Heritages 2023” is a professional photo contest for Vietnamese and international photographers organized by Heritage, the in-flight magazine of Vietnam Airlines, since 2013.

Now in its 9th year, the event aims to promote Vietnam’s culture, beautiful landscapes, and friendly people.

Vietnam: The Top Destination for Russian Tourists

The coastal central city of Nha Trang is one of the favorite travel destinations in Vietnam to Russia. Photo: vnreport.vn Fun&Sun, a leading travel company based in Russia, has recently launched a flight program to Cam Ranh in the southcentral province of Khanh Hoa. Flights operated by Scat Airlines include a stopover in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Mong’s Yen Badminton Festival

Yến badminton is believed to have originated from a story about a boy from Heaven who fell in love with a girl while on a trip to Earth. They would often play yến badminton together. In this game, players toss the yến shuttlecock and hit it back and forth with wooden rackets. It is purely an exercise and does not involve competition, rules, winners, or losers. Yến badminton is particularly popular among ethnic groups, especially the Mong in Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province. “The Mong in Ha Giang province have many folk games, such as spinning tops, stick pushing, and tug-of-war, but their favorite is yến badminton, and anyone can play it,” says Vang Ngoc Xuan of Thanh Van commune. Amazing overlapping cliffs in Quang Ninh

The first one is in Bang Ca Commune, Hoanh Bo District. At nearly 500 meters above sea level, five large rocks are stacked on top of each other. They protrude from the mountainside, creating a fantastic picture. The craggy cliff has so far inspired tourists to explore. The second overlapping cliff is in Binh Khe Commune, Uong Bi City.
